Liz began her career in fine arts as a painter, printmaker and photographer. Liz has since lived the life of a real-life renaissance woman, with stints as the director of a contemporary art gallery in upstate New York, jazz buyer for a record shop, technology sourcing VP for a Fortune 500 bank, bespoke wedding invitation designer and creative director for a high-end special events company. All the while, she found creative expression through the many home remodeling, restoration and construction projects she and her husband undertook. This obsession for all things related to interiors led Liz to take the leap to pursue an apprenticeship with an interior design firm, return to school, and launch her own interior design studio, mia carta. Drawing inspiration from art in all forms, world travel, organic elements, and a career in creative workspaces, Liz employs a collaborative approach with her clients to help create beautiful and comfortable interior spaces that are personal and true reflections of their inhabitants. Liz holds a BFA in Painting, and a certificate in Interior Design from Parsons School of Design/The New School.
